In a statement issued by its media office, the council commended the security agencies for their professionalism, resilience, and commitment, which culminated in the safe rescue of the victims without any loss of life, despite the time they spent in captivity.

The council also urged Nigerians, particularly residents of the South West, to promote peace, unity, and mutual understanding while rejecting every form of ethnic profiling, division, terrorism, banditry, kidnapping, and other criminal activities capable of undermining security and peaceful coexistence across the region.

Together, we can build a safer, more peaceful, and prosperous South West and Nigeria as a whole,” the statement said.
The council expressed appreciation to President Tinubu, Governor Makinde, the service chiefs, and the heads of the nation’s security and intelligence agencies for responding to the calls of well-meaning Nigerians, including the Fulani leadership, and ensuring the prompt rescue of the abducted pupils and their teachers.
It prayed for lasting peace, harmony, and sustainable development across Nigeria, expressing optimism that insecurity would soon become a thing of the past.
