A G-100 member expressed confidence that a consensus would still be reached by September 30. Other parties, including the AAC and ADP, have also rejected calls for their candidates to step down.

2. WAEC results row deepens as police invite official
The police have invited WAEC official Olanrewaju Fadehan to Abuja over alleged cyberstalking and criminal defamation linked to viral videos questioning the 2026 WASSCE results.
A Lagos High Court has also restrained him from further publications about the council and its Director-General. Fadehan denies the claims and says he has been placed on interdiction.

3. Bank mourns as branch manager killed by kidnappers in Imo
Polaris Bank Branch Manager Mr Ossy was shot dead by suspected kidnappers on the FUTO campus on Sunday while dropping off his children. Two female students were also allegedly abducted.
The university management has confirmed the incident and is engaging security agencies over the recovery of the students.

4. Obi, Alia lock horns over blocked Benue visit
Peter Obi accused suspected hired thugs of blocking his convoy on Gboko Road, Makurdi, and preventing him from reaching Yelwata. The Benue State Government denied involvement, insisting Obi failed to formally notify it of the visit.
The police confirmed they were aware of the movement and deployed officers but are investigating why youths stopped the convoy.

5. Kara Bridge repairs cripple Lagos-Ibadan Expressway
Motorists spent several hours in heavy traffic on Tuesday as repair works on the damaged expansion joints of the Kara Bridge triggered gridlock from Ogun into Lagos.
The Federal Government had announced a two-week replacement exercise beginning September 8. Traffic officials appealed for patience and cooperation.

6. Nigerian businessman had five penis enlargement injections before death — Clinic
Thai health authorities have revealed that Igho Ubiribo, who died after a penile filler procedure in Bangkok in March, had received five such injections at the clinic since 2024.
The final procedure involved 40cc of filler. Authorities are continuing investigations into the circumstances of his death.
