Voting has commenced at Polling Unit 001, St. Paul Primary School, Iwaro, located in Ekamarun Ward of Ijero Local Government Area, Ekiti, with electoral activities proceeding peacefully and in an orderly manner.
As early voting got underway, electoral officials and stakeholders prioritised elderly voters to ensure a smooth and comfortable process. Chairs were provided for senior citizens awaiting accreditation and voting, allowing them to participate without unnecessary stress.
Observers at the polling unit noted that the exercise began calmly, with voters arriving steadily to cast their ballots.

However, the intense weather conditions posed a challenge as the scorching sun affected both voters and party agents present at the venue. In response, an APC stakeholder suggested relocating some party observers and related activities to a nearby shaded area under a large tree to improve comfort and reduce exposure to the heat.
A minor incident was also recorded during the exercise when a female voter, who had not yet cast her ballot, approached an APC stakeholder to raise a complaint.
Although the nature of the complaint could not be immediately confirmed, the party representative assured the voter that the issue would be looked into promptly. The stakeholder was later seen consulting with other individuals at the polling unit in an apparent effort to address the concern.
Despite the brief development, there was no disruption to the voting process, and electoral activities continued without interruption.
Officials and party representatives at the polling unit expressed optimism that the exercise would remain peaceful and transparent throughout the day as eligible voters continue to participate in the electoral process.
Voting is expected to continue until the official closing time, after which sorting and counting of ballots will commence in accordance with electoral guidelines.
