From Agaju Madugba, Katsina
A cross section of members of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) converged on the Katsina Police Command headquarters on Thursday where they held joint Christian and Muslim prayer sessions in solidarity with the union’s President, Joe Ajaero.
The Commissioner of Police, Aliyu Abubakar, was on hand to receive the workers.
The NLC national headquarters had directed its members from across the states to embark on the project over police invitation to Ajaero for interrogation on allegations of terrorism financing.
One of the workers who pleaded anonymity told reporters that, “we are at the Police headquarters here in Katsina to honour our national leadership.
“On Wednesday, we received a circular by our General Secretary, Emmanuel Ugboaja, directing all state councils for peaceful processions and prayer sessions in solidarity with our National President, Ajaero.
“The directive is in response to the recent summons of our President by the Police for interrogation.”
