The Rotary Club of Osogbo Central has installed its 10th and first female president, RTN. Mutiyat Oyediran.

The event also witnessed an award ceremony, which is aimed at recognising individuals who have made significant contributions to their careers and given back to society.

Speaking at the official investiture of the club held in Osogbo, Osun state capital, the 10th and first female president, Oyediran, noted that the Osogbo Central Rotary Club is constantly striving to support the less privileged and advance societal harmony, adding that she’ll stand by that mandate.

She then commended the Benson Adeyemi Foundation (BAF) for their partnership in providing free medical checkups at the tenth investiture of the club.

According to her, “The Medical Outreach is actually sponsored by a Rotarian, Benson Adeyemi is one of the awardees today, and he is also a member of the club; he has been doing it in the past and he is still doing it.

“Basically, what the Rotary Club does for society is give back to society, and of course, everybody knows the Rotary International for that.

“So far, in the past, by some of my past presidents, we have actually supported people like widows, supporting them with some vocational materials and grinding machines to suppress the hardship in society. And in the past, we have given palliatives to assist the petty traders in our society, and the new administration is going to do the same.”

However, the Executive Director of the Benson Adeyemi Foundation and Director of Global Goals at the United Nations Association USA Chicago, Oluwafikayo Benson, reinitiated his commitment to ensuring everyone has access to good health.

Adeyemi said, “The focus of this medical outreach is to be in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Osogbo Central. They have an investiture, as they are installing the 10th president and the first female president. We are here to just partner with them based on our medical outreach, just to check the blood pressure of people and their blood sugar.”

Adeyemi, who is also the Executive Director, Sage and Enamel Foundation (SANDEF), revealed the foundation’s plans to ensure that people suffering from mental sickness enjoy free medical care.

“We will also go into the streets and take care of people with mental illness.

“Check them into the hospital, take care of their medical bills, and then reintegrate them back into society with the help of our partners, and we will make available for them a scholarship scheme”, he added.
