Ondo State deputy governor, Dr Olayide Adelami, has described the victory of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa in Saturday’s governorship primary election of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state as a testament to the positive impact he has made in the lives of the people within 100 days in office.
In a press statement signed by John Paul Akinduro, his spokesperson, the deputy governor said “every step of the governor has been divinely ordained and last Saturday’s victory says a lot about what God is planning to do in Ondo state through him.”
Adelami hailed the governor for “displaying an uncommon omoluabi ethos and leadership qualities before, during and after the election”. He urged other aspirants to support the governor for accelerated development in the state.
“The governor has made it known at different fora and even in his acceptance speech on Sunday, that he would bring everyone together for the good of the state.
“Now that the party members have spoken with their votes and a winner has emerged, I implore those who contested the ticket with Governor Aiyedatiwa to rally behind him as he delivers dividends of democracy to our people and continues to build the Ondo state of our dreams,” the deputy governor advised.
Adelami congratulated the governor on his historic victory and rejoiced with members of APC for making the right choice for the state. He assured the people of the governor’s unwavering commitment to pro-people programmes, projects and policies all through his tenure in office.
Meanwhile, the lawmaker representing Owo/Ose Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, Hon. (Dr.) Timehin Adelegbe has congratulated the Ondo state governor, Lucky Ayedatiwa, over his emergence as the gubernatorial standard-bearer of the APC for the November 16, 2024 governorship election.

Adelegbe equally hailed the National Working Committee (NWC) on the outcome of the special convention for the governorship primary of the party in the state.
“I congratulate my brother, friend, the incumbent governor of Ondo state, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Ayedatiwa for clinching the ticket of our party.
“In the same vein, our great party, APC, must be commended for the successful conduct of this primary election.
“No doubt, the party has displayed total commitment to the ethos of democracy and embraced fairness.
“For me, the contest is between brothers within one big family, where all participating aspirants, leaders and members of the party must now leverage our political strength to build a more unified party and reposition it for even greater victory.
“It is time for us true congressmen to identify and underscore our challenges for the greater good of the people.
“The time is now for the flagbearer to reconcile all weary factions and this is the time for the Governor to right the wrongs of yesterday and form a common front for the victory of the November 16 election.
“As a leader, it is time to galvanize support and calm frayed nerves. The reconciliation process must start immediately. The time has come to be united in order to defeat the major opposition party.
“We have a big task ahead. Let us put the past behind us for the greater objective to oil the wheel of peace, progress and unity in our party. We must all win together.”
