France head coach, Zinedine Zidane, has confirmed that Kylian Mbappe will remain the captain of the national team.
Zidane has named his first squad after replacing Didier Deschamps in the role.
Mbappe shone in his role as skipper at the 2026 World Cup and finished as the tournament’s top scorer with 10 goals.
However, he wasn’t able to win a medal with Les Bleus, who finished in fourth place.
Zidane has now said Mbappe will continue to lead the team.
“He will be my captain. He’s the BEST player in the world,” Zidane said.
“He is capable of playing in the three positions and I also really like him on the left.”
