The National Youth Council of Nigeria, Ogun State Chapter, has commended Governor Dapo Abiodun for his administration’s commitment to providing uninterrupted power supply with the establishment of a 30-megawatt independent power plant in Onijanganjangan, Ewekoro Local Government Area.
Speaking to the press, at the Ogun Youth House, the state chairman of the youth council, Akolawole Shoremi, lauded this initiative as a significant step towards youth empowerment and the creation of diverse job opportunities, from skilled technicians and engineers to support staff and administrative roles within the energy sector.
Shoremi highlighted the project’s significance, stating, “Reliable power is the lifeblood of youth-led businesses. This project will empower young entrepreneurs to thrive and create jobs for our peers.
“Governor Abiodun’s vision will unleash the immense potential of the youth, empowering us to drive economic growth.”
The youth council further emphasised the potential for job creation within the energy sector, from power plant construction and maintenance to the development of related industries, adding that this improved infrastructure will also attract businesses to the state and expand employment opportunities for young graduates and skilled workers.
Shoremi then called on all young people in Ogun State to embrace the opportunities presented by this development, urging them to explore entrepreneurial ventures, develop innovative solutions, and acquire skills relevant to the expanding energy sector.
