Your health must be intact so that you can function well and be able to live the dream you envision for yourself; because lack of good health will surely hinder your endeavours in life. The World Health Organization Council on the Economics of Health says about 140 countries recognize “health” as a human right. One of the factors affecting human health is the climate crisis —- which is caused by burning of fossil fuels. Meanwhile, the theme for this year’s World Health Day 2024 is “My Health, My Right”.
According to WHO, the motive behind this year’s theme was to champion the right of everyone on quality health services, safe water and good nutrition. This article is not just about World Health Day 2024 but why you should never joke with your health. The consequences are discussed below:
1. It can cause death
Not taking proper care of yourself can cause untimely death. You must strive to ensure you visit the hospital regularly for checkups. It is great to know your health status; it would guide you in the kind of lifestyle you would adopt.
2. It can lead to body weakness
Lack of adequate care or attention towards your health can eventually lead to body weakness. You need to be strong to be able to carry out your daily activities and be happy with yourself. Don’t joke with your health because when you become weak, it would be difficult to fend for yourself, much less others.
3. Constant Sickness
It is good to have the habit of regular checkups because if you get to the stage where you can no longer manage your health financially, you might be on your feet today and the next day, on the sick bed. Early detection will save you a lot of trouble.
4. It can cause sadness
If the body is not functioning as it should; it’s difficult for you to maintain happiness. That is why you should never joke with your health. Happiness unlocks so many abilities in you. So, don’t imbibe a nonchalant attitude towards your health.
5. You can lose focus
You shouldn’t wait till you get to a point when the only priority you want back is your health. At this stage, every other thing becomes unimportant in your life, which realistically shouldn’t be so. If you don’t want to lose you, take your health seriously.
