A United States-based policy advisory and lobbying firm, Von Batten-Montague-York, has said that America’s anti-terror partnership with Nigeria is not an open-ended support.
Von Batten-Montague-York made this statement in a post on its verified X handle on Tuesday.
The firm applauded the administration of President Donald Trump for selling to Nigeria the weapons it needs to tackle insecurity.
“This is a good development and points to the Trump administration’s strong desire to counter terrorism in Nigeria.
“Unlike previous administrations, the United States is selling Nigeria the weapons it needs to take the fight to the terrorists who threaten both U.S. and Nigerian interests.
“Nevertheless, as stated before Congress, shared interests in fighting terrorism in Nigeria do not mean US support for the Nigerian government in all regards.
“Not now-Not Ever will the United States condone Nigerian President Bola Tinubu’s alleged role in heroin trafficking from Nigeria to the United States during the 1980s and 1990s. As Venezuela has shown, our interests are aligned until they are unaligned,” the firm tweeted.
