United States President, Donald Trump, has ruled out a fresh American strike on Iran on Sunday, despite renewed threats of military action and uncertainty surrounding negotiations between Washington and Tehran.
“The answer is no. There will not be a strike today,” Trump told reporters when asked whether the US could resume attacks against Iran that day, according to reports by Al Jazeera and other media outlets.
The statement comes amid rising tensions over Iran’s nuclear programme and the future of diplomatic efforts to end the conflict.
Trump has continued to present military action and a possible agreement as options for Washington.

The US president has also suggested that Tehran could avoid further attacks by reaching an agreement with his administration, although he has not ruled out renewed military action beyond Sunday.
Meanwhile, Iranian President, Masoud Pezeshkian, has accused Washington of disrupting negotiations, while maintaining that Tehran remains committed to pursuing a deal.
Despite Trump’s latest assurance, uncertainty remains over whether the pause in US attacks will hold as both sides continue to exchange accusations and signal competing positions on the conflict.
