The Senator representing Taraba South senatorial district, David Jimkuta, has denied the N500 million women empowerment funds allegation, describing it as baseless and false.
Nigerian Tribune reports that a senatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr. Jessy Ashimate, had accused Jimkuta of diverting a total of 500 million meant for women empowerment in the southern senatorial district of the state.
Meanwhile, Senator Jimkuta, while responding through his campaign Director, Garleya Suntai, insisted that at no point had the senator received such funds for women’s empowerment.
Suntai urged Tarabans to disregard the claim, as it has no substance or proof.

“Everyone in the southern senatorial district of Taraba was expecting the PDP candidate to come out with proof of his allegations but he is rather making empty allegations without substance.
“We expected him to tell the people where the N500 million came, when the money was released and his source of information.
“We believe that the constituents would not be deceived by cheap allegation against a senator who has positively impacted the lives of the people. What is 500 million to Senator Jimkuta when he is given out empowerment worth over 3 billion?. The campaign Director questioned?
Garleya informed that the senator would be carrying out another batch of employment in few weeks, expected to be the highest among all, ever done.
