Twenty-four-year-old Ivorian Awa Fanny, popularly known as Fanny Roki Awa, has stated that social media pays and that with her viral influence as a digital creator, people and brands now approach her for collaboration.
Fanny, who began her social media journey on TikTok in 2021, has grown her online audience and influence and is now leveraging them for professional and brand opportunities.
According to her, her existing brand relationships include KA Cosmetics, which began in 2022; a one-year collaboration with Hollantex, which began in March 2026; and others coming up soon.
“Initially, people started appreciating my videos and contacting me. Now, brands are approaching me for collaborations,” she said.
She further said that the increasing visibility has helped her to understand the commercial possibilities of consistently creating content.
“The more you show up, the more your visibility gives you a reason to earn,” she added.
Fanny stated that her experience working with brands has shaped her view of social media as a potential avenue for young Africans seeking digital and financial opportunities.
“If you are a young African still thinking whether social media pays or is worth it, yes it is, because I am living proof,” she said.
She further said that her work was inspired by Kevine Chambala, and she is now working towards becoming the best person she can be.
She revealed that she received a Franco-Arabic education and completed schooling through Grade. However, she did not attend secondary school or university, but said she is working towards furthering her education.
On the other hand, she added that her ambition extends to entrepreneurship, which is why she plans to start a business soon, and that she will surprise everyone by showing how hardworking she can be outside social media work.
