Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has approved the disengagement of all technical advisers and directors-general of government agencies with immediate effect.
The affected officials are to submit their handover notes to the Office of the Secretary to the State Government.
This was contained in a statement issued on Tuesday by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Olayinka Oyebode.
The statement partly read, “The disengagement, which came barely 24 hours after the dissolution of the State Executive Council, marks the completion of the disengagement process for political appointees serving in the administration, except for a few whose appointments have been retained in view of the nature of their assignments.”
Oyebanji expressed appreciation to the affected DGs and TAs “for their support, commitment and contributions to the administration as well as the development of Ekiti State.”
The governor wished them success in their future endeavours.
The latest decision comes amid the winding down of Oyebanji’s first term ahead of his inauguration for a second term on October 16.
PUNCH Online reports that on September 27, the governor had dissolved boards, commissions and parastatals and terminated the appointments of political aides, while directors-general and technical advisers were exempted from the exercise.
