Nigerians with professional experience in health care and social services may have an opportunity to explore immigration pathways to Canada as the country seeks skilled workers to address shortages in its health care system.
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) announced the recruitment drive in a post on X on Monday, calling on qualified professionals with the required training, credentials and experience to explore immigration opportunities.
The Canadian government said it is seeking professionals including nurse practitioners, dentists, pharmacists, psychologists and social workers to help meet workforce gaps and provide essential services to Canadians.
The invitation is open to eligible skilled professionals globally, meaning qualified Nigerians can also explore the available pathways if they meet the requirements.

The initiative could provide an option for Nigerian health and social service professionals with the required qualifications and experience who are considering working and building their future in Canada.
IRCC directed interested professionals to explore its available immigration pathways to determine their eligibility and the options applicable to their qualifications and professional experience.
