A new world-class multi-speciality hospital, Starcare International Hospital, was inaugurated in Ikeja, Lagos, on Saturday by His Royal Majesty Kabiyesi Oba Lateef Adams of Ikate Kingdom, Surulere, Lagos.
Also in attendance were the Commissioner of Police Lagos State, CP Fayoade Adegoke, Shri Chandramouli Kumar Kern, Hon Consul-Gen of India, Consulate General India, Lagos, and Mr. Sanjay Jain, President, ICA.
Around 200 guests from various sectors attended the function and wished the best for the success of the hospital.
In the inaugural speech of the Chairman and Managing Director of the Hospital who doubles as USA-trained orthopaedic and spine surgeon Dr Ashraff Mohammad said “We’re committed to revolutionising the healthcare system of Nigeria by introducing the most advanced healthcare facilities and world-class technology, along with a rich blend of internationally trained and experienced doctors from India and Nigeria.
“We’re introducing most advanced surgical procedures like minimally invasive surgeries, laparoscopic surgeries, laser proctology surgeries, laser spine surgeries, endoscopic spine surgeries, cosmetic gynecology surgeries, bariatric (weight loss) surgeries, arthroscopy (sports medicine) procedures, which are rarely done in the country.”
Furthermore, he emphasised that “the hospital aims to reverse the exodus of medical tourism in Nigeria by providing world-class health care at STARCARE INTERNATIONAL HOSPITAL at par with developed countries like the USA, UK, Dubai and India which are the favourite medical tourism destinations for Nigerian patients.”
Additionally, he mentioned that “all the senior consultants will be available 24×7 in the facility.”
The Commissioner of Police, in his speech, congratulated the management and wished great success to the hospital. He also promised to support the hospital by empanelling the police force to the hospital. HRM Oba Lateef Adams gave his best wishes to the hospital and urged Nigerians to make use of the facility to avail of the best medical services.
Shri Chandramouli Kern expressed his wishes and wished that more Indian govt is committed to improving the bilateral ties between India and Nigeria and support Nigeria in every possible way.
The chairman, Dr Ashraff Mohammad, conducted a tour of the facility for all the guests and showcased the latest and most advanced infrastructure, including the OPD complex, inpatient wards, private rooms, ICU-NICU complex, OT complex, and labour rooms.
