Ogun State House of Assembly has passed the Medium-Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) for the 2027–2029 fiscal years, effective from September 8.
The passage of the framework followed the presentation of the report of the House Committee on Finance and Appropriation by its chairman, Honourable Musefiu Lamidi, who moved for its adoption.
The motion was seconded by Honourable Lukman Adeleye and supported by all members.

The Speaker, Oludaisi Elemide, subsequently presented the MTEF sector- by- sector before the lawmakers, after which the Assembly Chief Whip, Honourable Omolola Bakare, moved the motion for the approval of the financial framework. The motion was seconded by Honourable Adeleye and supported by other members.
The speaker, in a statement by the assembly’s Head of Information Unit, Jamiu Lawal, directed the Clerk/Head of Legislative Service, Mr Sakiru Adebakin, to forward clean copies of the approved framework to Governor Dapo Abiodun, and other relevant agencies for the preparation of 2027 budget and budgets for subsequent years.
Earlier, Honourable Lamidi said the MTEF had been referred to the House Committee on August 28, for further legislative action.
The MTEF provides for budget proposals of ₦2.086 trillion for the 2027 fiscal year, ₦2.294 trillion for 2028, and ₦2.524 trillion for 2029.
