A non-governmental organisation, DevMe, has partnered with the Minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, to train no fewer than 100 students in leadership, technology and personal development.
The Founder and Executive Director of DevMe, Temiloluwa Asagunla, disclosed this in Akure on Thursday while speaking on the second edition of the organisation’s FutureProofed 2.0 bootcamp.
Asagunla said the initiative was designed to equip young people between the ages of 13 and 19 with the skills, mindset and exposure needed to thrive in an increasingly competitive world.
She said participants would undergo intensive training in self-mastery, leadership, emerging careers and digital literacy, while also engaging in practical projects, team collaboration and problem-solving exercises.

She said, “We are not simply bringing teenagers together for lectures. We are creating an environment where they can discover, develop and deploy their potential.
“We want them to showcase what they have achieved, what they are building and what they are passionate about.”
Speaking on behalf of the minister and the federal lawmaker at the event, Dr Ayo Ologun, said the programme was aimed at creating opportunities for young Nigerians to develop their talents and prepare for future success.
Ologun said the success stories recorded from the maiden edition inspired the minister and the lawmaker to support the initiative and make the second edition bigger.
He said, “My principal, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, decided to be a part of the sponsorship this time to make it bigger than last year’s edition when the top prize was N1 million.
“But this year, we are taking up sponsorship in two parts. We are providing the security apparatus that will cover the venue from beginning to the end of the exercise.
“Also, we are sponsoring the event by giving a cash prize of N2 million each to the two top winners, and that’s where we are coming in this year.
“We hope that this will help the winners to prepare a future that they can be proud of. You know, in every setting and every programme, there will be a game.”
