The Nigerian Bar Association’s Section on Public Interest and Development Law (NBA-SPIDEL) has appointed Senator Dino Melaye as Chairman of its Public Interest and Development Law Reforms/Liaison Committee (SPIDEL Legislative Reforms Committee).
The appointment was contained in a memo announcing other NBA-SPIDEL regional representatives, committees, task teams, and special mechanisms.
According to the memo, Melaye’s appointment was approved by the NBA-SPIDEL Executive Committee and subsequently by the NBA National Executive Committee (NEC).
“Pursuant to Article XVIII of the Uniform Bye-laws for Sections, 2025, and sequel to the approval of the additional Committees by NBA NEC, kindly find herein the composition of the Regional Representatives, Committees, Task Teams and Special Mechanisms for the Nigerian Bar Association Section on Public Interest and Development Law,” the memo, signed by NBA-SPIDEL Chairperson, Dr Uju Agomoh, and Secretary, Enome J. Amatey, Esq., respectively, read.
While Melaye, who represented Kogi West Senatorial District in the National Assembly, will chair the SPIDEL Legislative Reforms Committee, Senator Emmanuel Bwacha will serve as Vice Chairman of the committee.

Honourable Chiedu Elumunoh was appointed Secretary of the committee, while Deborah Yakubu was named Assistant Secretary.
Meanwhile, Professor Shehu Abdullahi Zuru, SAN, and Right Honourable Edeko Maria were appointed as advisers to the committee.
