The Nasarawa State Police Command has presented Group Life Assurance and Group Personal Accident cheques totaling N30,845,424.03 to families of deceased police officers who served under the command.
The presentation was made by the Commissioner of Police, CP Shetima Jauro Mohammed, at the Nasarawa State Police Command on Wednesday, September 16, 2026.
The event was contained in a statement signed by the command’s Police Public Relations Officer, SP Ramhan Nanselon.
The financial benefits are intended to provide relief and support to families of police officers who lost their lives while serving the nation.
Presenting the cheques, CP Shetima commended the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, for what he described as his continued commitment to the welfare and well-being of police officers and their families.
The commissioner said the payment demonstrated the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to supporting families of officers who paid the ultimate price in the line of duty.
He urged the beneficiaries to manage the funds carefully and, where possible, invest them in sustainable ventures capable of generating income and improving their families’ living conditions.
The commissioner further advised the beneficiaries to use the financial support responsibly, stressing that the funds could help strengthen their families’ economic security and provide better opportunities for their children.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Mrs Edith Jacob expressed appreciation to the Inspector-General of Police and the Nasarawa State Commissioner of Police for the intervention.
She described the payment as a significant form of support to the affected families and pledged that the beneficiaries would make prudent use of the funds.
