•Army officer, soldier feared dead

Military troops with Civilian Joint Task Force (JTF), local hunters and vigilance groups have killed six Boko Haram members and seized some arms in a counter-offensive following a fresh attack by the terrorists on a town in Borno early Wednesday.
Daily Sun gathered that terrorists invaded Izge, Borno’s volatile Town in Gwoza Local Government at about 1am yesterday.
The attackers were said to be targeting a military location in the town as they shot several times to scare the soldiers away.
An Army Captain and a soldier reportedly died in the incident. However, there was no official confirmation from the military as at the time of filing the report.
A combined team of military troops, CJTF, local hunters and vigilantes launched counter-offensive against the terrorists,killing about six Boko Haram insurgents. They also seized some weapons and vehicles used by the terrorists.
Izge, a town located in the southeastern part of Borno has suffered over five attacks by Boko Haram terrorists since 2015.
