Nigerian-born UK mental health nurse and social media personality, Bemi Orojuogun, popularly known as “London Bus Aunty”, has featured alongside the United Kingdom’s new Prime Minister, Andy Burnham, in a video announcing a nationwide £2 cap on bus fares in England.
The video, shared by Burnham on his Instagram page on Wednesday, has since gone viral, celebrating Orojuogun’s growing influence as one of London’s most recognisable content creators.
Sharing the clip, Burnham wrote, “And if a double-decker bus…”, while tagging Orojuogun.
The Nigerian creator posted the same video with the caption, “Very good news! Today, the Prime Minister has announced a cap on all bus fares in England to £2.”
Burnham also reacted to her post with a light-hearted comment, writing, “Rebranding as Bus Andy.”
In the video, the Prime Minister said, “For too long, people said it’s not possible to reduce bus fares. Well, we showed everybody in Greater Manchester that it is possible. And today, I’m taking the £2 fare cap national.”
Introducing Orojuogun, he added, “Who better, though, to endorse this policy than a special guest…”
Responding humorously, Orojuogun said, “Oh, Prime Minister, you’re stealing my job!”
Burnham laughed before replying, “Cheaper bus fares, endorsed by Bus Aunty herself!”
“It’s a fantastic idea. Thank you so much, Prime Minister,” Orojuogun responded.
The appearance marks another milestone for the Nigerian content creator, whose videos celebrating London’s iconic red double-decker buses have transformed her from a social media curiosity into an internationally recognised influencer.
PUNCH Online previously reported that Orojuogun, who has lived in the UK for more than three decades, rose to fame in 2024 through her distinctive videos, in which she smiles while filming passing London buses from the roadside using forced-perspective camera techniques.
Her content has attracted more than 200,000 followers on TikTok and over 20,000 on Instagram, leading to collaborations with Transport for London, Burberry, JBL Audio UK, Jacquemus, City Sightseeing, and London Mayor Sadiq Khan during the city’s zero-emission buses campaign.
Earlier this year, she was also nominated in the Video of the Year category at the TikTok UK Awards 2025, further cementing her status as one of the platform’s most recognisable Nigerian creators abroad.
Orojuogun, popularly called “London Bus Aunty” by fans, has become known for turning her admiration for London’s buses into a social media brand that continues to attract global attention.
