The Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, has debunked a viral notice directing newly admitted students to sign the matriculation list on September 23, 2026.
The university described the notice as false and unauthorised, saying the matriculation list signing exercise has not commenced.
In a statement signed by the Registrar, Mrs Olayinka Balogun, the university said it was currently on break and that no Faculty Office was conducting the exercise.
It said the actual commencement date would be communicated through official channels after the university resumes.
However, an official memo dated August 24, 2026, also signed by Balogun, confirms that the matriculation lists for newly admitted 100 Level and Direct Entry students for the 2025/2026 academic session had been sent to the Faculties.

The memo, titled “Dispatch of Matriculation List for 2025/2026 Newly Admitted Students,” directed Faculty Officers to ensure that every newly admitted student signs against his or her name.
It also required three copies of the completed lists to be submitted to the Registrar’s office “on or before Wednesday, 30th September, 2026.”
The memo described the matriculation list as “an important statutory document of the University” and urged Faculty Officers to comply with the directive.
The university, however, clarified that the September 30 date is the deadline for submitting the completed lists and does not validate the September 23 date circulating online.
It urged newly admitted students to disregard the viral notice and rely on official university communication channels for updates.
Management assured the students that the commencement date for the signing exercise would be announced after resumption.
