The spokesperson for the Kwara South APC campaign council, Titilope Anifowoshe, has stated that the candidacy and support base of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Kwara State governorship candidate for the 2027 election, Salihu Yakubu Danladi, are strong.
Anifowoshe said this while reacting to her appointment as the Kwara South APC campaign council, which she described as a rare privilege and responsibility she does not take lightly.
She expressed her gratitude to Prince Lekan Adewoye for appointing her to the political role, adding, “He has made a deliberate statement about the place of women, young people, and emerging voices in political leadership.”
Anifowoshe stated that her appointment to the Kwara South APC campaign council came weeks after her appointment to the Research, Planning and Strategy Directorate of the Lagos APC Campaign Council for the Lagos APC governorship candidate, Dr Obafemi Hamzat.
She said she has returned home to Kwara State to resume work as the campaign council’s spokesperson, and that one of the tasks before her is to dispel the negative narratives surrounding the governorship candidacy of Salihu Yakubu Danladi (SYD), who is the current Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly.
Anifowoshe said that some of the narratives about Salihu are not true, especially those spread through social media.
“I have learnt not to mistake social media noise for political reality. Political strength is not measured by trending hashtags, coordinated attacks, or the loudest voices in the digital space. It is measured by grassroots structures, the strength of relationships, the loyalty of the people, and the ability to mobilise beyond the internet,” she said.
She added that despite the noise and distractions, Salihu’s grassroots mobilisation, the depth of his loyal support base, and the growing acceptance of his candidacy across communities are remarkable.
“Let me say this without equivocation: SYD’s candidacy is stronger than the iroko tree,” she said.
The Kwara South APC campaign council’s spokesperson noted that the governor of the state, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has set Kwara on a different trajectory.
“There is work to be done, progress to consolidate, and a future to protect. We must therefore give our all to ensure that Kwara only gets better,” she said.

She further said that while the opposition may continue to invest heavily in online theatrics, the APC must remain focused on engaging the people, strengthening its grassroots structures, communicating its achievements, and consolidating the gains it has made.
Anifowoshe urged members of the party and citizens of Kwara State to support the governorship candidacy of Salihu, and others seeking elective offices in the 2027 elections.
“The Kwara of yesterday is not the Kwara we are building today, and never again should we allow our state to slide into the years of political jahiliyyah,” she concluded.
