The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, in Yobe State has organised an Electoral Risk Management, ERM, sensitisation workshop for critical stakeholders as part of preparations for the 2027 general elections.
The workshop, held on Monday, brought together security personnel, officials of the National Orientation Agency, NOA, media practitioners and Electoral Officers from the 17 local government areas of the state.
The Resident Electoral Commissioner, REC, in the state, Alhaji Abubakar Ahmed Ma’aji, described participants as critical stakeholders in the electoral process and urged them to identify election-related risks peculiar to Yobe and develop sustainable mitigation strategies ahead of the polls.
The workshop was aimed at enhancing stakeholders’ understanding of electoral risk management, identifying potential risks, improving early warning and response mechanisms, strengthening collaboration and supporting evidence-based planning for credible elections.
Speaking on behalf of the NOA, the agency reaffirmed its commitment as a strategic partner of INEC, pledging continued support through public sensitisation, social mobilisation and campaigns to discourage actions capable of undermining peaceful elections.
