The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has commenced the collection of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and the display of the preliminary register of voters for claims and objections across the 44 local government areas of Kano State.
The exercise was ongoing on Friday, 9 October 2026, as part of the commission’s efforts to ensure an accurate and credible voter register ahead of future elections.
The display of the preliminary register provides an opportunity for eligible voters to verify their details and raise claims or objections, where necessary, to correct errors, omissions or other discrepancies in the register.
The ongoing PVC collection is also expected to enable registered voters who have yet to collect their cards to do so ahead of forthcoming elections.
INEC is conducting the exercise across all 44 local government areas of Kano State, although details of its duration and the specific collection arrangements were not provided in the information available.
The commission has consistently urged eligible voters to participate in voter registration and verification activities to strengthen the credibility of the electoral process.
