Lawmaker representing Kogi Central, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, has narrated how her 16-year-old daughter, Nadia, raised funds to build an orphanage home, saying she deliberately stayed in the background to allow her daughter to lead the project.
Natasha disclosed this in a post while sharing a video documenting the beginning of Nadia’s project to build the home for orphaned children.
According to her, Nadia began the project in the middle of last year, with the senator choosing not to take a prominent role because she wanted her daughter to take ownership of the initiative.

She disclosed this in a post on her verified Facebook handle on Tuesday.
She said, “I deliberately stayed in the background because I wanted her to own the dream, the effort, the challenges and, ultimately, the joy of seeing it become real.”
Natasha explained that she only intervened towards the end of the fundraising process when her daughter encountered difficulties, adding that she shared Nadia’s donation link with a few friends who supported the project.
“But the vision, courage and determination were hers,” she said.
The senator said she was proud of her daughter for turning her concern for vulnerable children into a project that would provide them with a home.
“Watching my 16-year-old daughter turn compassion into a home for children fills my heart with more pride than words can express,” she added.
