The European and African Unions have partnered to offer fully funded PERI ACE Scholarships for African students.
The Intra-Africa PERI ACE Scholarships offers Master’s and Doctoral programs that cover the costs of tuition, a €1,230 monthly subsistence allowance, travel costs, and the costs of research and mobility.
Eligibility Requirements
To be considered for the PERI ACE Intra Africa Mobility Scholarship, you must:
- be African nationals – be both nationals and residents of an African country.
- be registered or admitted to an African Higher Education Institution or have obtained a university degree from an African institution.
- meet the entry requirements, and apply for the program with all required documents.
Benefits
The PERI ACE Intra Africa Mobility Scholarship covers the following;
- Airfare and travel costs
- Visa fees
- Accommodation and subsistence
- A one-time settling-in allowance
- Annual female allowance
- Insurance
- Tuition and other academic expenses
- Printing and related study costs
- Research and fieldwork expenses
A special-needs scholarship is also available for one eligible candidate with a disability.
Eligible Programmes
- Master’s Level: Scholarships are offered through two approaches:
- Full degree programmes (24 months): Focusing on specialized courses like Water Resources Engineering and Management.
- Credit-seeking mobilities (10 months): Allowing students to undertake focused research while maintaining enrolment at their home university.
- Doctoral Level: Scholarships support 36-month research programmes aligned with regional priorities (e.g., climate-resilient agriculture in West Africa, urban adaptation in East Africa, and renewable energy in Southern Africa).

- Shortlisting and selection will take place from 16 September to 16 October 2026, followed by the selection meeting on 23 October 2026
- Successful and unsuccessful applicants are expected to be notified between 26 and 28 October 2026, with scholarship activities scheduled to commence from 2 November 2026.
