The Presidential Scholarship at Eastern Michigan University is for a high-achieving high school graduate and prospective undergraduates with big dreams for their college education.
Eligibility Requirements
To be considered for the Eastern Michigan University Scholarship, you must:
- High School Senior/Incoming Freshman for Fall 2027
- Must be a high school graduate in 2026 or 2027
- Must have at least one of the following:
- A 3.85+ high school GPA (no SAT/ACT requirement) OR
- A 3.5-3.84 high school GPA and a 25 composite ACT or 1200 SAT (Critical Reading + Math)
- Must apply for admission to Eastern Michigan University and submit all official transcripts and test scores by December 15, 2026.
- Must submit the Presidential Scholarship Application and all required materials by December 15, 2026.
- Must visit Eastern Michigan University at least one time during the 2026 calendar year.

- Attend an Official Campus Visit
- For eligibility, your visit must be completed during the 2024 calendar year. An official campus visit is considered a campus tour, an open house, or a virtual admissions event. Find our visit options at emich.edu/visit.
- The EMU Honors College will be offering special virtual sessions that will count for visit eligibility. These sessions allow interested students to talk with current Scholars about why they’re glad they came to EMU and learn how to best prepare for the Presidential Scholars Competition.
