The University of British Columbia (UBC) offers funding to incoming graduate students to study in Canada.
The UBC Masters Scholarship offers up to $25,639 in funding per year to cover study and living expenses for international students to pursue a Masters degree in Cell and Development Biology.
Requirements
- The CELL Program welcomes applications from students with first class or high second class Bachelor’s or Master’s degrees.
- In most cases, students enter with a degree(s) in the biological life sciences, but applicants with other backgrounds, such as computational modeling, mathematics and chemistry will also interest some CELL faculty members.
- Early application is strongly recommended, especially in the case of applicants who intend to apply for financial assistance and/or international students, who should be aware that it may require up to six months to process visa applications.
Benefits
Based on the criteria outlined below, 30 students within this program were included in this study because they received funding through UBC in the form of teaching, research, academic assistantships or internal or external awards with a mean of $34,183 and a median of $35,200.
This results in a net balance (any funding provided to the student minus tuition and fees) mean of $25,901 and median of $25,639.
