The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) senatorial candidate for Kogi West, Muyi Fatosa, has pledged to establish Innovation and Creative Hubs in each of the seven Local Government Areas of the senatorial district as part of his plan to empower young people and drive digital transformation.
Fatosa said the proposed centres would serve as technology and entrepreneurship hubs, equipping thousands of youths with the skills needed to compete in the global digital economy.
According to him, each hub will offer training in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and other digital skills, alongside modern ICT laboratories, media and podcast studios, creative arts facilities, co-working spaces, start-up incubation programmes and business support services.
He explained that the initiative was aimed at addressing youth unemployment by providing practical knowledge and creating opportunities for innovation, entrepreneurship and self-reliance.
The NDC candidate noted that the centres would not only prepare graduates and artisans for careers in technology but also nurture a new generation of entrepreneurs capable of building sustainable businesses and creating jobs.
Fatosa said the project reflected his commitment to investing in human capital development and ensuring that young people in Kogi West were not left behind in the rapidly evolving digital age.
He expressed confidence that the hubs would become catalysts for economic growth across the district by supporting start-ups, digital professionals and creative entrepreneurs with the resources and environment needed to thrive.
According to him, the facilities would encourage collaboration, innovation and knowledge-sharing while providing aspiring business owners with access to mentorship, networking opportunities and enterprise development support.
Fatosa added that the initiative would contribute to the diversification of local economies by expanding opportunities beyond traditional occupations and positioning Kogi West as a hub for technology, creativity and innovation.
He reaffirmed his commitment to implementing people-focused programmes that empower youths, promote economic inclusion and unlock the district’s vast human potential if elected to represent Kogi West in the Senate.
