In line with the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG 5) to achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls, the Consultant Haemato-oncologist, Dr Modupe Elebute-Odunsi, has launched the Women in Healthcare Network (WIHCN) to exponentially increase the contribution of women to the development of the Nigerian Health system.
During the launch, there were three impactful panel sessions on leadership, financing and mentorship led by Founding Members and comprised of industry leaders with inspiring track records. The panels showcased what is possible when we bring women together to inspire other women and are a preview of future events planned for our members.
Elebute-Odunsi who is also on the Board of Trustees, WIHCN, said, “We knew WIHCN was needed, but I did not anticipate the level of support we received and the number of people that attended today.
“We are inspired to drive this initiative for all the women in healthcare who aspire to maximise their careers and businesses.
“WIHCN invites women in healthcare to register to be members. The mission is to connect, inform and inspire.
“Connect and network with peers, experts and industry leaders. Inform and educate about developments in the health sector and also share opportunities. Inspire by supporting mentoring sessions and relationships.
