Benue State University Teaching Hospital, Makurdi is to establish a VIP clinic.
Speaking at a press briefing on Wednesday, the Chief Medical Director, Steven Hwande said that the teaching hospital is to open the international investigation summit commencing from Thursday.
According to CMD, the teaching hospital will also have an exhibition on Thursday where people will display medical equipment.
The theme of the exhibition, according to the CMD is, ‘Attaining One Stock Hospital’ where quality treatment can be received.
Hwande said that during the two-day event, there will be a N5 billion endowment fund and also to recognize those who have supported the hospital.
Among those to be honoured are, the former governor of the state, Gabriel Suswam, the incumbent governor, Rev Fr Hyacinth Alia and some people referred to as ambassadors.
He said, “Benue State University Teaching Hospital, Makurdi is set to open the International Investment Summit, the aim is to mimic what is happening everywhere, part of it is to achieve medical tourism.
“We are having an exhibition from Thursday, that is a medical scientific exhibition on research and training. During this exhibition, people will come to display medical equipment.
“The hospital is also going to set up a VIP clinic.”
The CMD identified water and electricity supply as the major challenges confronting the hospital.
