Human rights activist, Aisha Yesufu, says the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, is the major threat to the forthcoming 2027 general elections.
Yesufu made the statement in a post on her verified X handle on Thursday, stating that the commission will ruin the polls.
According to her, if the electoral body takes the ‘I’ in its acronym seriously, there would be free, fair and credible elections in the country.
When INEC takes seriously the independence in the I in their acronym, free, fair and credible election will be a done deal.
“AI-generated content, and manipulated information pose growing threats to the credibility of the 2027 polls,” she said.
Her concern is coming as Nigerians prepare to go to the polls next year to elect their leaders.
