The President of Association of Medical Laboratory Scientist of Nigeria (AMLSN) Dr. Casmire Ifeanyi has applauded President Bola Tinubu for taking initiative through some of his polices to reposition healthcare services in the country.
Dr. Ifeanyi told Nigerian Tribune in Owerri during the 60the Annual Scientific General Meeting/Diamond Jubilee Anniversary of the Association which started since March in 1964 in Lagos, held at Land Mark Event Centre Owerri.
The President recalled the recent President Executive Order on the Local Manufacturing and Diagnostic and Pharmaceutical products targeted to enhance medical service delivery in the country.
He said that the body with the Theme of the conference: “Strenghtening Local Collaborators In Nigeria, Lesson From Global Partners”, is committed at supporting Mr. President Renewed Hope agenda to drive health care delivery through engagement with relevant sectors in the country.

He said the purpose of the meeting which essentially marked exactly one year of his election as the President of the association is for them to celebrate the parts in which they have taken a holistic look from where they were and where they are today as one of the leading critical player in the health sector globally not just in Nigeria.
Ifeanyi said that the body had always taken a critical look at the contributions they have made in advancing Medical Laboratory Services particularly in diagnostice competence and capacities for the health system.
He said, “we are not there yet, but we are satisfied that we have made steady progress and we are on trajectory that will take us to an enviable feature.”
The President acknowledged the fact that the conference will help to open further collaboration in the areas of research and enhancing network service delivery.
While appreciating his 12 months in office described as wonderful, Dr Ifeanyi said that the body has taken a leap from what it used to be and has taken up net work of friendship, partnership of major constructive engagement with government.
Describing Imo State as the second state visited, Dr. Ifeanyi pointed out that the body is indeed engaging constructively with governments
He disclosed the nomination of Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State for investiture as the First National Patron of the Association for his contribution for nation building and for his expand investment in both state and national level particularly in providing diagnostic capacity of Medical Laboratory base for virtually all the General Hospitals in Imo State.
