The Adamawa state government has expressed its readiness to collaborate with development partners in promoting safe motherhood in the state.
This was disclosed by the commissioner of health and human capital during meetings my a press briefing at the Ministry of Health and Human Services, Yola, to mark this year’s National Safe Motherhood Day.

The Commissioner, speaking through the permanent secretary, Zirra Babunani said the state government has made remarkable stride towards achieving Universal Health Coverage and Sustainable Development Goals 3 on good health and well being.
“Particularly on the woman and child birth, noting that every mother matters, every birth counts, and every life is precious.”
He added that as the world marks “safe motherhood day, it is a reminder that we must all work together to promote Safe pregnancy, postnatal care.”
The PS commended the TCI and Adamawa Family planing media advocacy group for creating awareness on the need for safe motherhood through family planing and child spacing.
He said, ” Governor Umar Finitri has created an enabling environment that allows healthcare programs and services to thrive through support programs.”
He also commended health workers in the state across all healthcare facilities, midwives, doctors and community health workers and the traditional rulers.
