There are different signs of healthy skin; dryness is not one of them. How can you tell that your skin is dry? For some people, it could be itchiness, cracks, or peeling; for others, it could be a painful sensation on the skin or other signs.
How, then, can you protect your skin from dryness? Let’s see simple ways you can achieve that.
1. Warm water
Some adults often criticise warm water, especially for bathing or cleansing. However, one of your best bets for having healthy skin is to use warm water to bathe. Also, it’s advisable to spend less time taking a bath. Don’t use hot water to bathe; stick to warm or lukewarm water.
2. A gentle approach
When you want to wash your face, gently wash it off with warm water. You should wash your face at least twice a day using this approach. Also, do well to avoid the use of sponges on your skin. Contrary to what people think, sponges sometimes do a poor job of helping you maintain healthy skin. Avoid scrubbing your skin violently. Use a gentle approach.
3. Use mild soaps
Another way to protect your skin from dryness is to avoid the use of harsh soaps and less skin-friendly soaps for bathing. Also, if you want to do laundry, consider the same options for your detergent to avoid dryness of your palm.
4. Protect your fingers
In all you do, protect your fingers from chemicals and germs. It’s a safe way to protect your skin from dryness. How can you protect your fingers? Wear gloves, use hand creams, use mild hand soaps, wash off stains and dry them out properly, and apply creams after washing.

5. Moisturise your lips and other parts
You can protect your skin from dryness by occasionally applying lip balm or lip gloss to control dryness. Also, you can apply oils, body butter, and lotions to your body after washing. It’s advisable to apply immediately after contact with water, either by bathing or cleansing.
6. Hydration
Drinking water or having fruits with high water content are ways by which you can keep your body hydrated. Drinking water can help to reduce wrinkles, maintain your skin’s elasticity, and flush toxins, among other advantages.
All in all, your skin does not have to feel or look dry constantly; there are different ways to combat it. What other ways to combat dryness do you know about?
