Despite an early morning rainfall, voters across the Kebbi state on Saturday turned out en masse to vote peacefully to elect their Chairmen and Councilorship in the 21 local government areas and 225 wards in the state.
During our Correspondent monitoring at various polling units in the state, voters in Birnin Kebbi local government, Kalgo, Jega, Argungu Council Areas came out to vote for their candidates.
At Tundun Wada polling units, Nagari College polling units, Marafa Polling unit and Kauran-Gwandu polling units, voting started as early as 8am-8:30 am in most polling units with the arrival of the polling materials, KESIEC officers arrived promptly.
Also, at Dangwarema Polling units, Kalgo Local Government Area, voting materials and KESIEC officers arrived early and voting started at about 8:30 am with an impressive turnout.
While interacting with our correspondent, a voter at Tundun Wada polling unit, Birnin Kebbi Local Government Area, Umar Abubakar explained that, earlier this morning rain delayed many voters from coming out to vote.
According to him, “As you can see now, this is after 10 am, voters are coming out and before 12 noon, this polling unit would be full of voters. For now, there is no problem at all, everything is going on smoothly,” he said.
