Aside producing movies, she recently curated a fashion show to celebrate African fabric tagged ‘The Blacks fashion show’. Here, she speaks toROTIMI IGE about her passions and what makes her tick.

How would you describe yourself?

I am a multifaceted creative entrepreneur and a passionate and innovative filmmaker. As an event/movie producer, I bring unique perspectives and ideas to life through engaging stories and captivating visuals. My debut film, ‘Yetunde’ is a testament to my dedication to creating meaningful narratives that inspire and resonate with audiences. I am commited to leaving a lasting impact in the film industry and beyond.

What sparks your creativity and inspires your passion?

My creativity sparks from exploring new places, my quest for something unique and meeting diverse people.

Tell us about your movie ‘Yetunde’?

‘Yetunde’ tells poignant story of a family’s struggle and resilience two siblings bonded by life and duty, faces challenges that test their relationship. Their mother stubbornly independent refuses to accept help or shelter with her eldest son and his wife in Lagos, despite her deteriorating health. As the eldest son and his wife navigates their own struggles with infertility. They must confront the difficult decision of insemination or adoption, leading to a rift between them. Ultimately, fate brings a bitter sweet resolution as the wife became pregnant and on the same day the family matriarch passes away leaving behind a legacy of love and the power of family bonds.

Who’s your favourite filmmaker?

This is really hard to choose as I respect a lot of them cause they are doing very good jobs.

If you could switch lives with a filmmaker for a day, who would it be and why?

Easy. Funke Akindele because she’s successful at her craft and I really want to go get into her head to understand how’s she’s able to come up with great ideas especially her PR.

What’s your favourite hobby and why?

Paintballing, Apart from being a team sport, I enjoy playing it a lot because it helps with endurance , stress management, full body workout.

What’s the most challenging yet rewarding experience you have had?

That would be organising my event (Theblacksfashionshow) on April 28. Imagine having less than twenty thousand naira in your account brimming with ideas and you had to put together an event running into millions. I enjoyed every moment and was happy with the good reviews at the end.

If you could go back in time and give advice to your younger self what would it be?

Embrace your uniqueness, don’t conform to societal norms.

If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would you go and why?

Seychelles or Maldives…Anywere with a great beach. I just want to sit close to the water and get a good massage.

What’s the most important lesson you have learned in life so far?

Resilience and adaptability are keys to success… Just keep pushing.

What’s next on your creative horizon?

It is still very sketchy but I am working on a series that addresses drug addiction in our society.

If you could leave a lasting legacy, what would it be and why?

Empowering education for underprivileged children. That’s my dream legacy .
