The accident occurred on Monday in Oleh, Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State, and it reportedly sparked tension in the community.

According to reports, it all started when a police officer on duty stopped a minibus that was driving against traffic.
During the stop, a truck lost control and collided with the minibus, which then crushed the motorcycle, its passenger, and others nearby.
The immediate death of the motorcyclist triggered a mob that swiftly set the minibus ablaze. The driver abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene before the mob could reach him.
In response to the incident, SP Edafe clarified that contrary to circulating reports, it was a Toyota Sienna that was driving against traffic and was set on fire, not a police van.
“The Toyota Sienna was driving against traffic, and the police stopped him to inquire why he was driving the wrong way.
As he stopped, an oncoming tipper lorry lost control and rammed into the Sienna, which in turn collided with the motorcycle and its passengers,” he said.
