Popular Nigerian OAP Toke Makinwa has sparked a controversy online after she shared that tribal marks are evil.

Sharing via her page on X (Twitter), she stated that marking a child as a means of identification without their consent is wrong.

The entertainer went on to state that though they saw the tribal marks as a means of identification back then, but is a cruel act to participate in currently.

Her tweet read;

“Today I saw a beautiful beauty influencer with tribal marks and it made me think about the cruelty that culture brought upon us. Marking a child without his/her consent as a means of identification is Evil, I know our parents didn’t know any better but damnnnn!!!!”

Even when a follower countered the media personality by saying that tribal marks and tattoos are the same, Toke rebuked her and said;

“Tattoos are a choice, marking a child without their consent is not the same. You rest, weirdo”
