The Technical Adviser of Sunshine Stars Football Club, Kennedy Boboye, has stated that the team had been lacking direction before the appointment of the Commissioner for Sports by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
Boboye, who had previously coached Akwa United, emphasised that recent changes made within the club will further reposition the team for better performance.
While meeting with the new commissioner in Akure, the state capital, he expressed satisfaction with the progress made by the team in the past few weeks.
The technical adviser hailed the supporters of Sunshine Stars for their unflinching dedication and appealed to them to continue supporting the team during the transitional period.
With the suspension of the general manager of the club, Boboye expressed optimism about the team’s future under the new leadership.
“I’m happy you came, and I’m impressed with what you’ve done in the past few weeks.
“I’m glad we are getting direction gradually because, since my appointment, what the team lacked was direction because no one gave productive directives, but now things are taking shape,” he said.
