Former Chelsea youth team player, Bryan Fiabema, has faulted the club’s decision to sack Thomas Tuchel.
Tuchel won the Champions League with the Blues and was the last manager to win a trophy for the club.
Chelsea’s new owners sacked the German tactician in September 2022 after a run of poor results.
Apart from the Champions League, Tuchel also led Chelsea to Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup glory.
Asked whether he was surprised by the sacking of Tuchel while speaking to The Byline Show, Fiabema said, “Very, very. I think to this day even it was a mistake because if you look back, if you are at a big club like that you always have to win trophies.”
“He won trophies, I would say he did well but just seeing what he did with the players and the team, I think it was a mistake.”
