The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has cautioned its members to be vigilant against individuals posing as loyalists.
This is as the Osun APC alleges that such individuals also harbour contrary progressive agenda.
The warning was contained in a statement signed by the state chairman of the APC, Tajudeen Lawal, and issued by Kola Olabisi, the party’s Director of Media and Information, on Monday in Osogbo.
Lawal also highlighted the actions of suspended and expelled former members of the party, who he alleged have intentions to mislead unsuspecting party members.
“There is need for genuine members to remain steadfast and united. Disregard the distractions caused by these political traitors.
“I urge genuine party members to prioritise regular meetings to strengthen party cohesion.”
Lawal reaffirmed the party’s unity in the state adding that recent federal appointments of APC chieftains in the state was a pointer to its resilience against external disruptions.
While reminding members that loyalty is paramount, and politics required unwavering dedication, Lawal called for discernment among party members.
The call by the Osun APC chairman is coming on the heels of the inauguration of state coordinators of The Omoluabi Progressives, TOP, a caucus of the Osun APC in Ilesa on Sunday.
At the inauguration, former governor of the state and Patron of TOP, Rauf Aregebsola, charged the system coordinators to uphold the Omoluabi ethos in the discharge of their duties.
According to a statement by his Media Adviser, Sola Fasure, Aregebsola also stressed that, “I want you all to imbibe the ethos of Omoluabi in the new position you have been elected into.
“I recall there was a time I served at the lowest level in my ward in Lagos, cleaning chairs for political meetings amongst others, but look how far God has brought us.
“I never for once fought or forced myself to be anything in political leadership. I have always been called to serve by my leaders. So I want you to also see this as an opportunity to serve our people.”
