The Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, says the much-awaited student loan scheme may kick off in two to three weeks.
Gbajabiamila disclosed this when a delegation from the National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS, led by its President, Lucky Emonefe, paid him a visit at the State House, Abuja.
He told the Nigerian students to support the scheme, noting that it aimed to ensure access to quality education for all Nigerian students, regardless of their socioeconomic background.
“Mr President is absolutely determined that we see it through successfully.
“We are hoping it will be launched in the next two to three weeks; we are trying to dot the I(s) and cross the T(s) before it is launched”, he said.
Arogidigba Global Journal recalls that since President Tinubu signed the Student Loan Scheme into law in June last year, its commencement had suffered a setback.
