Member of the House of Representatives, representing Darazo /Ganjuwa Federal Constituency of Bauchi, Mansur Manu Soro on Sunday, flagged off the disbursement of the sum of N6.55 million to 655 students of Gifted Secondary and Primary schools (aka MMS schools) located at Sade, Lanzai, Soro, Darazo and Kafin Madaki towns of the constituency.
Each of the beneficiaries got the sum of N10,000 to enable them concentrate on their studies and get the required materials for the study.
He also presented 171 school kits, 56 teaching tablets, 20 Computer laptops, and 700 Quranic books in his resolve to sustain the educational legacy intervention projects he started.
While speaking during the presentation of the intervention, held in Darazo, the Federal Lawmaker alongside Caretaker Chairman of Darazo LGC, Alh. Samaila Yau Sade charged the students and pupils to prioritise their studies.
Also presented are 56 computer tablets and 20 computer laptops to support the school’s transition to digital learning methods and prepare the students for current-day CBT examinations.
Similarly, 171 sets of complete school kits comprising uniforms, sandals, 10 number of exercise books, bags, and socks were presented to new students for free, as was the experience of the previous years of 2021, 2022, and 2023.
Meanwhile, 700 Quranic books, hundreds of ablution kettles, and praying mats were also donated to the schools to support Quranic learning and observance of Zuhr prayers.
It will be recalled that Mansur Manu Soro had, during his first tenure as Member of the House of Representatives, established 4 tuition-free Secondary Schools for the Gifted (1 per district) and 1 Special Primary School for vulnerable children in Lanzai town – a border town between Bauchi and Yone states – to cater for IDPs children displaced by the Boko Haram insurgency.
