Cross River State Governor, Senator Bassey Edet Otu, has appointed Dr Betta Edu as Director of Finance and Fundraising for the Bassey Otu/Peter Odey 2027 All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship campaign council.
Edu is among the directors serving on the campaign council, which comprises 43 directorates and 4,412 members drawn from the 18 local government areas of Cross River State.
The appointment comes shortly after President Bola Ahmed Tinubu inaugurated Edu as Director of Women Mobilisation of the APC Presidential Campaign Council ahead of the 2027 general elections.

An indigene of Adadama in Abi Local Government Area of Cross River State, Edu is an APC stakeholder whose political activities span state and national levels.
Her appointment to the state campaign council further places her within the party’s campaign structure in Cross River, alongside her reported responsibility for women’s mobilisation at the national level.
The dual roles highlight the party’s deployment of political figures across state and national campaign structures as it prepares for the 2027 elections.
