Yusuf made the declaration on Saturday during the unveiling of the Arewa for Asiwaju (A4A) national headquarters in Abuja.
He referred to a purported mutual agreement reached between the North and the South in 1999, which, according to him, provides for two consecutive terms each for the North and the South.
“In 1999, there was a mutual agreement between the North and the South, that the North will be allowed to go for two consecutive terms in office.
“Based on that, in the last dispensation, President Buhari of blessed memory held sway for two consecutive terms, meaning for eight years.
“We don’t have any cause to now violate that promise, even though not constitutionally, but I can say for constitution of common sense. Common sense dictates that we have to respect this mutual agreement.
“I therefore, on behalf of all the Northern states, on behalf of all democrats, on behalf of all patriotic Northern states, we want to assure Tinubu of our full support. 100%. He has done exceedingly well,” Governor Yusuf said.
