It said the new foldables combine slimmer designs with more durable hinges, larger displays and Galaxy AI features designed to make smartphones more intuitive and efficient for users.
Samsung is also strengthening consumer protection by offering enhanced after-sales support and device protection programmes, a move aimed at boosting consumer confidence in foldable smartphones, which have traditionally been viewed as premium but delicate devices.
The renewed focus on foldables comes as competition in Nigeria’s smartphone market continues to intensify, with brands such as Apple, Xiaomi, TECNO, Infinix and OPPO expanding their premium offerings while incorporating artificial intelligence into cameras, search, productivity and editing tools.
Samsung believes foldables represent the next evolution of smartphones, particularly as AI shifts from being a standalone feature to becoming deeply embedded in mobile operating systems.
Artificial Intelligence is becoming one of the biggest differentiators in the premium smartphone market. Rather than competing solely on camera quality or processing power, manufacturers are increasingly using AI to improve productivity, personalise user experiences and enable real-time assistance.
Globally, Samsung has been increasing investments in foldable technology as consumer demand gradually shifts toward larger-screen devices capable of replacing traditional smartphones and tablets for work and entertainment.
Recent reviews of Samsung’s newest foldables have highlighted their lighter designs, improved durability and tighter integration with AI-powered tools, reflecting the company’s long-term commitment to the category.
In Nigeria, the strategy also reflects growing demand for premium smartphones among professionals, content creators and business users seeking devices that can support multitasking, document editing, video conferencing and AI-assisted workflows.
As AI capabilities become central to smartphone innovation, Samsung is betting that combining intelligent software with foldable hardware will help preserve its leadership in the premium segment while encouraging more consumers to adopt foldable devices despite their higher price points.
