Particular Assistant to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar on Public Communication, Phrank Shaibu, has recommended President Bola Tinubu for the suspension of the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Dr Betta Edu and mentioned collaborators who “remotely and wickedly benefitted from cash that was meant for poor Nigerians” needs to be fished out.
Whereas commending Tinubu for the event on Monday, he mentioned the suspension of Edu was not sufficient as there are collaborators within the scandal.
Shaibu’s opinion was contained in an announcement he issued on Tuesday amid the plethora of reactions trailing the suspension of the minister over the alleged switch of N585.2 million into a non-public account.
Arogidigba World Journal reported that President Bola Tinubu suspended the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation after a leaked memo confirmed that she ordered the switch of N585.2 million into the non-public checking account of a civil servant, who’s the accountant accountable for grants for susceptible Nigerians.
Dr Edu was a former Nationwide Girls Chief of the All Progressives Congress earlier than she was appointed Minister.
Shaibu, in his assertion, mentioned: “Firstly, he had no enterprise appointing her as a minister of such a delicate ministry within the first place. Tinubu put politics forward of competence, therefore this scandal. What expertise did Betta have within the improvement sector? How was Imaan Ibrahim, together with her wealth of expertise, ignored? How did the Chief of Workers to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, stand as Betta Edu’s referee throughout her clearance on the Senate?”
He insisted that Betta Edu was not the one one concerned within the scandal, urging the President to direct the anti-graft businesses to research an organization owned by the Minister of Inside, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, that carried out consultancy companies to the tune of N438.1 million.
